I'm Kathy Quan RN BSN PHN. I received my BSN and Public Health Nurse certificate from California State University Los Angeles and have worked as an RN for over 30 years. My experience has been primarily in home health care and hospice as a field nurse, nursing supervisor and a QI (Quality Improvement) specialist.

I have written five books for Adams Media. The Everything New Nurse Book 2nd Edition was just published in Nov. 2011.

The first edition of The Everything New Nurse Book was published in April 2006. The Everything Guide to Careers in Health Care followed in Nov. 2007.

My third book, The Everything Guide to Caring for Aging Parents, was published in Feb. 2009 along with an adjunct to the New Nurse Book, entitled 150 Tips and Tricks for New Nurses. I also contributed a chapter to Reflections on Doctors, in the Kaplan Voices Nurses anthology series. (9/2008). My books are available at Barnes & Noble or on Amazon.com.
